Grace. Gracious. Providing grace.

What is grace?

Dictionaries inform us of fluid movement, or of courtesy and goodwill. The first meaning speaks of physical movement, but I don't think the two meanings need to stand apart. Certainly not for You. There is an elegant flow to Your courtesy and goodwill.

The religion of my childhood was born in the time and place of You being actively and commonly worshipped in ways we draw on today, yet were very different ways then. That religion taught me about the grace of a deity being Divine Mercy, and blessings given for no true reason other than a deity wanting to give them.

You have illuminated paths that have led me to seeing deities in other ways than I was taught in childhood, and I recognize that to be part of Your grace. I still must recognize that You are never obligated to bestow Your blessings upon me, nor upon anyone or anything I ask for Your assistance with. Even if we have an agreement, it was only by Your grace that You made the agreement, and by Your grace that You are virtuous and stay true to Your word.

Grace can be terrifying. Grace evokes awe. Grace can be comforting. Grace is beautiful.

You are grace.
