New Version of an Old Hymn

I invoke Hekate Enodia - Queen of the liminal point where three paths meet.

Glorious Hekate Ourania, Hekate Khthonia, Hekate Enalia, adorned with saffron robes!

She who dwells amongst the Mighty and Beloved Dead! Daughter of Destruction, born of the Stars!

She who loves solitude and finds peace in the wilderness with the deer.

Mistress of Nocturnal Mysteries with faithful hounds. Unconquerable Eternal Queen.

She who receives offerings and gives blessings.

Hekate Kleidoukhos - Keeper of the Keys to the Cosmic Mysteries!

Divine Eternal Maiden who holds authority and nurtures the young as She wanders the wild spaces!

I pray that You be with Your devotees at  sacred times in sacred spaces, and that You recieve and are honored by these offerings and prayers.

Glorious Hekate, I know You know that is drawn from the hymn Orpheus wrote for You. You know the time I have spent reading different translations and variations, and how it is all so enchanting and beautiful to me...yet there always seems to be a detail here or there that makes me think, "But I would have said that a little differently."

So I give to You my own version of this invocation and prayer of praise. Somehow, I already know I will rewrite this again and again. I can feel it in myself that different aspects of You will require different attention at different times. Today, this is what I give. And I thank You for guiding me in this. I am particularly thankful for the hints about "Tauropolos". Also, for being guided to do this work while circumstances were preventing me from doing other work.

In all the pain and anxiety, I do still see Your torches guiding me. Thank You for being with me.
