Khaire Hekate Trioditis!

And here we are, Glorious Hekate...at the last of that list I made so long ago of 27 of Your epithets. Of course, You have many, many names! I made the list of 27 because it is nine sets of three, with nine being three sets of three. Reaching the end of the list doesn't mean this virtual shrine closes. Not at all! It simply means we've reached the end of the list.

That makes it more appropriate than I realized in the beginning that the last of Your epithets on the list is Trioditis, known to the Romans as Trivia. She who walks the crossroads, and particularly, the three-way crossroads. Reaching the end of a list is kind of like being at a crossroads. Waiting to find out which direction things will go from here.

I remind myself often lately that all crossroads are Your thrones, Your points of power. I don't want to say "places of power" because You hold power in all places. "Points of power" sounds more like there is a well of power there. The power flows out, spreads, but is concentrated at that point.

Crossroads are recognized as points of power even in cultures that did not know You in ancient times. Symbolically, we often speak of things "being at a crossroads" when tension is high, time is tight, and things will have to change direction. It seems to be something just programmed into humans that we know there is raw, wild power in a crossroads.

The fear, the mystery, the spirits, the power...all of it flows from You and back to You! Khaire Hekate Trioditis!
