At this New Moon

Dark Mother Hekate, I begin this prayer with an offering of gratitude. You know everything this night is to me, given the date on the calendar. You know how far I've traveled. You have carried me, walked with me, and held Your torches for me every step of the way. I feel many things right now, and it's important for me to say that one of those things is thankfulness. I thank You, Mother! I give praise and gratitude to Glorious Hekate!

It was on this night that You chose not to unlock the Gates for me, but instead to call me to walk this twisting path with You. In a little less than an hour, it will be again that moment that I stood at that Crossroads. Mother, You know what this night is. You know what it always does to me, and You have stood with me every time this has come around again. You know the pain I carry this time. I'm scared. I also trust that I will still be here when the sun rises tomorrow, and many mornings to follow, and will continue to walk where You lead me.

And this year -- with all the extra pain and extra fear -- this night is the New Moon! I understand what that means to many people, but it is an auspicious night for Your children! The Dark Moon and New Moon belong to You, Dark Mother! 

You know "wait and see" has never been a space I sit comfortably in. But I listen and watch for Your guidance. I thank You for Your blessings, and I thank clever, cunning, quick Hermes for His blessings.
