Strange Roads to Walk

Glorious Hekate, I find myself concerned about the work I am doing. Concerned about how it may distract me from my devotion to You. But then I remember You led me to this work. You unlocked doors. You opened gates. You have held Your torches so that I could see how to approach the doors and gates.

And now...darkness.

Let me remember, Most Gracious Hekate, that I will not always be led by the light of Your torches, but that does not mean I have been abandoned. Sometimes I need to sit in the dark and listen for Your hounds. Sometimes I need to pause in my journey and take in all that can be learned and understood from Your storms. You have many faces, many names. Torchbearer is not all that You are.

Let me remember that doing this work is, in itself, a devotional act because of it being You who led me to the work. It would be foolish for me to say, "I am not doing the work You gave me because I need to pay attention to what You might ask of me." It may change my regular devotional practices. The work is to be done.

Let me remember that You are in all things, and especially in those strange spaces where the edges of impossible things run together.
