We need You, Mother

Dark Mother, these are Dark Times we humans live in. I suppose every generation has said that. I mean it in two ways. There is the common meaning of "terrible times of pain and violence with no justice or agency for the common people". The other meaning is that these are times for reexamining, diving deeper, self-healing, living according to our values of bonding with others and taking care of each other, tearing down the toxic system and building a better one.

Dark Mother, we need You.

I look at what was happening when You called me, and I sometimes wonder... Was I called so that I would call You when needed? But when have we ever not needed You? There's a big difference between "do not need" and "do not recognize the need". And I think of the doubts I had as a child, sitting in a Christian church, listening to the story of Yeshua of Nazareth praying in the garden. The story was to tell us how he knew his purpose and accepted that the Will of his deity was greater than his own, but I remember wondering if he might have just thought those things because it made the pattern of events in his life make more sense to him. I remember wondering if maybe no one except himself heard his prayers. Now I ask myself, "What if that applies to me? Maybe my calling is for worship and devotion, but not for such Big Things as calling Her to come to the world's aid."

But this is complex. You, Anima Mundi, are our world. How could You not want us to call for You? But why would it be necessary for us to call to You? I am a devoted to You, but I don't give myself the illusion that I completely understand You or any of the other Shining Immortal Ones. I don't know Your plans if they are not revealed to me. Sometimes I'm not that good at understanding even when things are revealed. I am human. I am Your child, and it is necessary for me to remember that still means "child".

We need You, Mother. We need Your protection. We need Your guidance. We need Your rage, Brimo! We need You to be the mother bear, the fierce hunting lioness! We need the help and guidance of all of the Immortal Ones who want to see us thrive.
