What did You whisper to Prometheus?
Glorious Hekate Enodia!
Glorious Hekate Ourania!
Glorious Hekate Einalia!
Glorious Hekate Khthonia!
Glorious Hekate Kleidoukhos!
Glorious Hekate Pammetor!
Glorious Hekate Pandoteira!
Glorious Hekate Soteira!
Glorious Hekate Adamantaea!
You have so many names, Mother, and I cannot see that I will ever know You by all of them. I knew You first as Kleidoukhos. Then as Enodia. I am learning to recognize You as Einalia. I have seen other forms, recognized other faces. But You have over 200 names, and maybe I should be thankful that I have never seen some of the faces that You wear. Oh, but then... Mother, You are always beautiful to me! Your most terrifying forms carry a beauty of their own.
As Enodia, I see You walk with Hermes at times. As Einalia, I see You with the Earthshaker Poseidon. I've caught glimpses of You with Apollon, but You know there is much there that I do not understand. Sometimes I see You in wild spaces not too far from Pan. What I have seen of You with Hades leaves me curious, yet not exactly eager to learn more. You know the reasons for that. You know how I got there.
Sometimes I wonder, Mother...what did you whisper to Prometheus? It isn't in the myths and legends. The stories we have of You are so limited. The stories we have of any of the Shining Immortal Ones are limited! Even the most detailed, longest tales are so very small once we get a glimpse of how much more You are. But You, especially, Mother. Your stories were not recorded by those who had greater knowledge of You. We don't know why.
But I look at what the stories say of Prometheus, and I think I see traces of Your influence. What is it You may have shown to him, or suggested to him? What deal might You have made with him?
I wonder...what did You whisper to Prometheus?
