New Year
It is a new year on the calendar, with the first month named for the Roman Janus. The ancient Greeks may not have known Janus, but they knew one of his brothers, Cronos. But, Mother, I see You in January. I see that liminal space on New Year's Eve night and New Year's Day morning. Not the previous year anymore, but not enough for "this year" yet. A space that cannot really be defined and simply IS.
We speak of Janus looking back and the past and, simultaneously, looking ahead at the future. You exist in all times and places. Do past, present, and future even exist for You, or is it all eternity?
I have work to do this year that will take me deep into questions like that. I'm nervous. I'm not afraid I will fail. Not this time. But I know it will be an experience of transformation, and so I am nervous. But I also know to always look to Your guidance, and I thank You for that guidance.
